AttachaPack: Fun, Stylish, and... Safe?
October 2014

By Tavia Gilliam
Created by Christina Thomas, both a former San Antonio Police officer and a loving mother, AttachaPack is becoming all the rage amongst kids all across the country. AttachaPack is a new line of backpacks that combines style, fun, and even safety. With detachable pockets and eye-catching designs, these backpacks are perfect for kids who love mixing and matching to fit their own personal style.
AttachaPack comes in three styles to better meet each individual’s needs. The Tinsley offers the most space. The Henley is slightly smaller than the Tinsley and the Chase is the smallest of the three, perfect for younger students. WSB had the chance to review the Henley model and we were impressed with the bag’s simple yet functional design, durability, and of course, it’s unique customization options.
Attachapack’s real draw, however, comes in the form of some innovative safety features. Christina Thomas knows a few things about safety after dedicating her life to the police force for 16 years. After working security in a San Jose, California school, Christina and her daughter, Kelsey, set out to invent something that students could look forward to wearing while giving their parents peace of mind.

With this in mind, Christina and Kelsey came up with the idea of offering the option of putting a lightweight bullet-proof shield in the backpack. This is what sets the AttachaPack apart from other backpacks. Although school emergencies are rare and we all hope that the bullet-proof shield is never needed, parents can sleep better at night knowing there is some sort of protection with their children while they are at school.
This can even be handy for those students who walk to and from school or utilize the bus stop. An emergency can occur at any time, but with Christina and Kelsey’s innovative new backpack design, parents can rest easy knowing that they are being proactive rather than reactive.
The team here at Women’s Sourcebook is delighted to support the AttachaPack and we are eager to see what else Christina and Kelsey have in store.
