Increase Energy the Natural Way!
August 2014

When the PR manager for Energy and More! reached out to us and asked us to try their new performance enhancing dietary supplements Electric Pink and Electric Blue, we knew we needed to see what the fuss was all about. Typically, I don't favor anything that boasts caffeine in a can (I would much rather get my caffeine fix from a hot cup of coffee in the morning on my way out the door), but the sleek design and promises from Electric Pink to increase my “passion, drive, and desire” allowed me to move beyond my fear of energy drinks and take the first sip.
The packaging for these drinks is simple, yet seductive. Like the symbol designed to look like an erratic pulse on an EKG monitor, the drinks promise to be a jolt of energy even before the first sip. It comes in two varieties, Electric Pink, which boasts a description that the drink “enhances focus, drive, and 'in the heat of the moment' passion to help you embrace all of your desires,” and Electric Blue, which claims to “enhance focus, strength, and 'in the heat of the moment' readiness to help you stay in command.” Aside from pink and blue, there was no flavor written on the can, so I had no idea what I was getting into. I carefully watched another reviewer defy gender lines and take a gulp of Electric Blue, and after smacking her lips a few times, she proclaimed that it tasted like a strange blend of blue raspberry candy and slightly carbonated tea. When I took my first sip of Electric Pink, I noticed a sweet fruity flavor that I couldn't quite place, and the smooth texture was very reminiscent of brewed tea. Part of me wished the drink was just slightly more carbonated to give it the extra push beyond your average canned tea products, but in all, the taste was better than I anticipated. While it isn't a drink that I would likely pick up on a daily basis, our other reviewers found that they really enjoyed both drinks, Electric Pink especially for the slightly better tasting formula, and could easily see them becoming a go-to for a quick boost of energy.

The Electric drinks don't have a long list of dangerous chemicals like b vitamins, guarana, or ginseng that are often found in your typical energy booster. In fact, the ingredients are refreshingly simple with 450 mg of Avena Stavia, an herb that's traditionally used to aid in recovery from exhaustion and enhance the user's feelings of well-being, L-Arginine, Damiana Leaf extract, Epidemium Extract, Ginger Root Extract to work as a powerful anti-inflammatory and increase blood circulation to provide a heightened sense of stimulation, Ginkgo Biloba leaf extract, Longjack Root Extract, Tribulus Terrestris Extract, Natural Caffeine from Green Coffee Beans, and Citicoline to help improve focus and mental energy.
Energy and More! doesn't list a quantifiable amount of each ingredient unlike some of the other companies, but they do mention that the drink contains just 85mg of caffeine. That's half the amount of caffeine in your typical energy booster like Monster or Red Bull, and less caffeine than your average 8 oz cup of coffee in the morning (we looked it up). This is great for those with caffeine sensitivity, but the boost is still there. After just a few sips of Electric Pink I noticed a significant boost in attentiveness that lasted for hours. In all, for those who are accustomed to energy drinks and find themselves looking for something new to try, Electric Pink and Electric Blue are great options. The drinks are powerful without overloading your body with dangerous chemicals and too much caffeine, and are smooth enough to make it an enjoyable experience. If you're looking for a smooth uplift without the jittery crash, give Electric Pink or Electric Blue a try!
