Not Your Sugar Mamas Chocolate: The New Superfood

If you think there is no such thing as a nutritious, mood lifting, energy enhancing piece of chocolate, Bennett Coffey and Kyleen Keenan, Not Your Sugar Mamas (NYSM) co-owners, will prove you wrong. They have created a recipe that takes the world’s most antioxidant rich food (raw cacao), and mixed it with other nutrient rich superfoods for a great tasting chocolate bar.
The intention behind Not Your Sugar Mamas is to produce a high quality chocolate bar infused with good vibes. Coffey and Keenan believe that eating food that vibrates at a higher frequency helps us feel more radiant and alive. They use cacao in all of their products because of its mood lifting properties, ability to enhance energy and ranking as the highest antioxidant food in the world. They also use only use natural sweeteners because they are lower on the glycemic index than refined sugars and provide more sustainable energy naturally.
NYSM’s philosophy arose out of Coffey’s training as a holistic nutrition counselor at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. NYSM’s most popular item is their shelf stable chocolate bars that come in flavors such as Be Crunchy, Be Rich, Be Sappy and Be Cool. Our staff tasting team tried out the Be Crunchy bar and was pleasantly surprised that the dark chocolate tasted so good. Except for the coconut taste, which was slightly strong for our resident non-coconut lover, everyone agrees it is one of the best dark chocolate bars they have tasted and that doesn’t produce the “high” and subsequent “low” that comes with indulging in most chocolate treats. As for good vibes, our team agrees that we need more fieldwork first!
